ONE Thought (from us)
Life is busy, we get it. We also get how busyness can lead to stress, and stress leads to arguments. Is the solution to not be busy? Perhaps. But some seasons of life require busyness. So, what might a couple do to weather the busyness without getting weathered by stress and arguments in the process? One word: gratitude.
More specifically, we’ve found that employing the language of gratitude is the most potent defender of marital unity in the middle of life’s busiest seasons. So, how might you learn the language of gratitude today? Much can be said, and has been said on this week’s podcast episode. Give it a listen here!
“Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”
(Philippians 2:14–15)
ONE Quote (from another)
“The great respect it hath to love. Praise and thanksgiving are acts of love, [which] cherish and feed love. They are acts of love to God; for if we love God, we will praise Him.”
– Thomas Manton
ONE Question (for you)
Gratitude changes everything. What are five tangible aspects of your spouse for which you’re grateful? Why not write them in a note and give it to him/her today?
Note: We talked about this topic in this week’s podcast episode. Be sure to watch or listen to get the full discussion!
