3 Lies Men Believe About Intimacy, Light-Walking, and Leo Tolstoy

ONE Thought (from us)

We are all about helping men be the best husbands and fathers they can possibly be. Yet, as we’ve observed, many men struggle to realize their potential because of three big, but common lies about sex (and pornography) they tell themselves.

Three lies:

  1. Viewing pornography doesn’t hurt anyone
  2. I don’t need to tell my wife about my pornography use/addiction because it will hurt her (among other reasons)
  3. I can never ask for intimacy

Each of the above lies must be replaced with truth, and if they are, men can begin to walk in all the freedom bought and paid for with the blood of Christ.

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”
(Titus 2:11–15)

ONE Quote (from another)

“He felt now that he was not simply close to her, but that he did not know where he ended and she began.”
– Leo Tolstoy

ONE Question (for you)

Do any of the above lies sound familiar? How can you begin walking in the truth more fully this week?
