Tired Husbands Helping At Home, John Bunyan, and Marital Generosity

ONE Thought (from us)

Should husbands help at home after a long day of work? In a word, absolutely, but why? Because generosity is the currency of love. Even more than that, the role of a husband is one of self-sacrifice, service, and headship like Christ for the church. Husbands, the marital buck stops with you. If your wife is feeling overwhelmed, give. Always give.

In a similar way: wives, give. If you recognize that your husband is worn down and in need of a break, offer him rest. The point here is not the chores or who does them, but whether or not you’re giving to one another in the spirit of love. So, whether you’re a tired husband or a weary wife, whenever possible, give. Doing so is sure to multiply love in your home.

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
(2 Corinthians 9:6)

ONE Quote (from another)

“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”
― John Bunyan
