Commitment, For Men, For Women, Love

A Letter of Encouragement

Over the past few weeks Ryan and I have received a number of emails and Facebook messages from people reaching out to us and wanting some advice and prayer.

The more we interact with our readers the more we learn how a few words of encouragement not only bless others, but bless us as well.

This post is unique as it is a letter of encouragement rather than a basic blog post. Our hope is that as you read this, you will be blessed, encouraged, empowered and renewed in your fight for your marriage.

Dear Fierce Warrior,

We hope and pray that the battle you fight has produced perseverance and faith in our God. (Romans 5:3, Romans 5:4, Romans 5:5)

Be encouraged that you are not alone in the challenges, pain and anger that you face…again, you are NOT alone. Looking around, it may feel as if you are the only person having “issues” in your marriage. Or maybe marriage hasn’t been what you expected? It’s harder to live with him/her than you thought…and you’re starting to question your decision of commitment.

Fight on, friend, fight on. (Psalm 18:34)

Marriage was never created to be easy or “happy” — you will undoubtedly experience some of the deepest joys that your heart will ever know while being married.

You may also find yourself dealing with hurts and pains in your heart that you had no idea even existed.

Take heart my friend – TAKE HEART! (John 16:33)

No matter what type of battle you are facing today – put your hope in God. (Psalm 42:5)

Cry out to Him for help, for guidance, for peace. (Hebrews 13:20)

HE makes all things new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

HE is our Healer and provider of hope, joy and life. (Matthew 15:30, Psalm 39:7, John 14:6, 1 Timothy 6:13)

He loved us so completely that He sent His One and only Son to die in our place. (John 3:16)

He is waiting to come alongside you and fight with you. (John 16:13)

Your marriage is sacred to Him. (Hebrews 13:4)

It’s a reflection of His relationship with the Church, and with His Son. (Ephesians 5:22 )

Fear nothing in the future, and cling wholly to His Word. (Isaiah 41:10)

You are not alone in your fight, we are all waging war and taking back territory from the one who lives to steal, kill and destroy our marriages. (John 10:10)

Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. GREATER! (1 John 4:4)

Lift up your eyes and rest in the knowledge of WHO He is and what He is teaching you. (Isaiah 40:26)

Love as He loves; sacrificially and unconditionally. (Psalm 103:12)

Live as a copy of Him; full of forgiveness and grace. (Matthew 16:14)

Marriage is God’s creation – HE is the designer and creator. (Genesis 1:27)

His rules are not to confine us, but to bring us liberation! (Hebrews 12:6)

Wherever you find yourself on the battle field, know that you are not alone. (Psalm 18:32)

He is with you. (Hebrews 13:5)

We are warriors together and forever we will fight. (Ephesians 6:12)

Fix your eyes on Him, the one and true Author of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)

Fight strong, fight on. (1 Timothy 6:12)

Together we fight,

Ryan & Selena
